Intro To Audiobook Narration, a two hour online private session will immerse you quickly and effectively into the world of audiobooks.

In a casual and fun session, we will acquaint ourselves with an overview of the skills and muscles necessary to consider a viable career as a narrator in this burgeoning industry.

Whether you’re a complete novice or an established actor, voice over artist, author with some experience and insight into audiobooks, we will discuss the “Do’s and Don’ts” of audiobook narration that will put you on a path to a deeper understanding of the art form, both in broad and specific terms, as well as discover your personal and professional path forward.

Some of the things we will explore in the opening session include getting started, preparing a script for narration, understanding the distinction between reading and storytelling, building a repertoire of characters, exploring genre and style, building a demo, learning the professional business and technical basics. Given the two hour time limit some of these will be explored to a lesser or greater extent based on your questions and goals. At the end of the session, you will have specific task oriented goals to get you started choosing material and exploring home studio options.

Additional 60 minute sessions may be booked monthly or weekly during which we will be focusing entirely on the craft and the art of narration. Using fiction and non fiction scripts in a variety of genres you will read, record and make necessary acting adjustments as you prepare demo selections, auditions and manuscripts you may ultimately be hired to produce and/or narrate. During these sessions, my goal is to coach and direct you to your best performance.
